Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2026

Who we are

BatteryPlaces (batteryplaces.com) is a guide to battery and solar power for vans, cabins and homes, based in South Dakota, USA. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean BatteryPlaces.

Questions about privacy: [email protected]. Anything else: [email protected].

The short version

Email newsletter

If you sign up, we collect your email address. Our list is run by MailerLite, our email service provider. MailerLite stores and processes your email address and signup details (such as the time of signup and the IP address used) so we can send the newsletter. See MailerLite's privacy policy.

When you sign up, your email address is added to the list straight away. There is no separate confirmation email, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Email services like MailerLite may record whether emails are opened or links are clicked; we look at this only in summary to improve the newsletter.

To keep bots and spam signups off the list, the signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a "verify you're human" check. Turnstile processes limited technical data, such as your IP address and browser and device signals, to confirm you are a person. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum.

We use your email address only to send the newsletter and to reply to you. We do not sell, rent or trade email addresses.

How to unsubscribe

Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you are removed. You can also email [email protected] and ask us to remove you.

Hosting and security

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks and abuse, and it may keep this in security logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. It records basic, aggregate information such as the page you viewed, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and your country. We use this only to improve the site and do not sell it.

Affiliate links and retailer cookies

Some links on BatteryPlaces may be affiliate links to retailers or brands. When you click one, that retailer (for example Amazon) may set its own cookies or use similar technology to record that you came from us, under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from those purchases. See our affiliate disclosure.

If you email us

If you write to us, we keep your message and email address to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Children

BatteryPlaces is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the US state you live in, state law may give you rights such as asking what personal information we hold about you, correcting it, deleting it, or opting out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising. Wherever you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. We will not treat you differently for asking.

How long we keep information

We keep newsletter subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and email messages for as long as we need them to answer you.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. If a change matters for newsletter subscribers, we will also mention it in the newsletter.
